I am Glenna
Sprague, D.V.M. I became involved with pure bred dogs in 1978, after
graduating from Texas A&M’s Veterinary School. Doc’s Bostons was founded in
1994 when my veterinary technician brought in a litter of Boston Terrier
pups from a nearby kennel. The moment I saw Molly and her 3 sisters I was
hooked. My son picked out Molly and I handled her at local shows while I
waited for a “real” show puppy. One year later, Buddy (from Oui’s kennel in
Houston) joined our family and became my first champion.
In 1996, my family and
I moved to the remote Upper Peninsula of Michigan to be closer to my aging
parents and to enjoy the four seasons. I took a few years off from showing
dogs. When Paddy arrived in our home in 2000, I was ready to get back to
showing dogs . In 2001, Metoo and Rudy joined our family. I finished these 3
dogs the following summer. Rudy also won novice agility titles.
Now I am semi-retired
and am able to devote most of my time to my dogs. I generally have 7 Bostons in
my home. I breed for show stock, but occasionally have pet pups and retired
show dogs available for placement. Genetic testing on my breeding stock
includes OFA patella exams, DNA testing for juvenile cataracts & CERF eye exams,
BAER hearing tests and spinal x-rays. I breed for sweet temperaments and health
guarantee my pups.
We also added Jewel, a
Flat-Coated Retriever, to our home in 2002. She is my husband’s pride and joy.
As a team, they have completed her CD, CGC, Novice and Open Agility titles. In
addition to her ring accomplishments, she’s an exceptional hunting dog and
retrieves ducks or geese out of the water or flushes pheasants and grouse.
In Dec of 2007 I
brought our first French Bulldog, Rosy home from the Gradon kennel in Texas.
Turtle joined us in Oct of 2008. The Frenchies have moved right in with our Bostons and are real clowns.
